The Society has been in existence since 1949 and aims to present first-class performances of a wide variety of choral music and, in doing so, offers members an exciting programme of music and an enjoyable and enriching leisure-time activity.
Dunbar and District Musical Society was formed on 26 January 1949 and in 1994 the name was changed to Dunbar and District Choral Society. In 2012 another change shortened the name to Dunbar Choral.
The society draws its members from all over East Lothian and beyond and is based in Dunbar where its rehearsals are held and main concerts are given. However additional performances have been held at various other venues as you will see from the Highlights page and the Previous Concerts pages.
Details of our next concerts for 2016-17 are on the Future concerts page.
